At our hotel in San Jose a beautiful Crimson Patch Butterfly alit for a few seconds on this pretty flower which I think is a type of Gerba Daisy

Indian Lotus Flower
The Lotus Fower, Nelumbo nucifera, is also known as the Indian Lotus, the Sacred Lotus and the Bean of India. It is an aquatic perenial not related to the water lily or egyptian lily. The seeds of this plant can remain viable and can germinate many years after they have been harvested. The oldest known recorded Nelumbo Nucifera germination was from seeds that were 1300 years old found in a dry lakebed in China and Vietnam. The Lotus is the national flower of both India and Vietnam
