Sutro Baths, San Francisco, California
The Sutro Baths were opened to the public in 1896 as the largest indoor swimming area in the world but now lay in ruins as part of the Golden Gate Recreation Center. There were 6 salt water pools and one fresh water pool. The saltwater pools were filled by the ocean at high tide, it was an amazing feat of engineering. It fell into disuse and was burned in an arson fire in 1966.

My first trip to the 911 Memorial. It was emotional and a bit overwhelming just walking around and watching others as they reached out and touched the names and gazed into the pools.
